Ambulance Services Advanced Media Workshop

(CC) licensed:gwire

Management also needs to be prepared for disasters

This is a one day training course designed specifically for Directors, and Senior Managers within Ambulance Services-addressing their different needs and diverse range of skills.

Ambulance Services are constantly in the media gaze, because of the frontline, emergency nature of the services they provide. Both the public and media spotlight are constantly on them and the need to manage your reputation (and enhance it) is paramount.

We will tailor this course to issues directly affecting the delegates as well as include "disaster" scenarios such as a terrorist bombing or another Paddington, Hatfield or Selby rail crash.

It is suitable for those who are versed in media relations, with plenty of media experience. It is therefore aimed at being very challenging, with demanding subject areas and tough interviews.

We will concentrate on emergency planning issues and developing the skills needed to handle all types of media interviews, from conventional office based interview to the more intimidating "doorstep" journalistic encounter.

We are very keen to emphasise the issue of control - how to take control of the interview - and we show you effective ways of achieving this.

We will help you:

  • Develop the skills for a successful communication strategy.
  • Develop the skills for effective Press, Radio and TV interviews.
  • Handle Crisis Management and Success Message scenarios.
  • Turn around blame culture prevalent in the Media.
  • Put over a positive image of Ambulance Services.
  • Improve proactive communication of your achievements.
  • Help each participant become an effective media communicator.

This Media Training Course will help Ambulance Directors and Service Managers achieve successful media interviews. It will also show you how to build relationships with journalists, how to improve relations with the local

press and how to deal in a proactive way with unfavourable reporting, should that ever occur

The course will improve Media Awareness, helping you recognise media opportunities and develop the skills for a News Management Strategy regarding the management of news and information.
