Communication is key for delivering change

How to communicate internally and externally to achieve change – of action and of mindset

Who would benefit

Anyone who is responsible for implementing and managing change in an organisation.

Effective communication can make the difference between creating ambassadors and supporters rather than detractors and saboteurs – and thereby the success of the programme itself. This course would cover the elements of a communications programme to ensure that it wins hearts and minds.

  • Understanding communications goals and how they are integrated into wider organisational goals
  • Structure of a communications plan
  • Understanding who is responsible for communications at different levels
  • Different communications tools – advantages and disadvantages of each
  • Knowing the key message for each communication and adapting it to different audiences for maximum impact
  • Identifying external audiences which may influence internal messages
  • Dealing with timing issues eg. multi-centre networks, shift work
  • Uprooting the grapevine!
  • Identifying and managing effective feedback mechanisms
  • Use of external agencies when necessary

Outcomes

  • A planned communications programme which will facilitate the success of organisational goals and changes
  • Message delivery is managed to all target audiences
  • Reduced spend on unnecessary or overly complicated communications tools
  • A more productive working environment
  • The death of the grapevine!
