Media Awareness Seminar

This seminar gives a good overview of the media, shows how to spot media opportunities and how to use the media proactively.

You will learn how to use the media more effectively, create media interest in your activities, write a press release and handle media enquiries.

It is ideal for anyone who needs to understand the news value of the work that they do and use the media to promote their achievements, but won’t necessarily have to handle media interviews.

It is fun and entertaining, we include lots of video clips to illustrate our points, and encourage audience interaction and the help of willing volunteers. This seminar is also ideal as part of your annual conference or network event.

What to expect

This half-day seminar is fun, informative and entertaining, we include lots of video clips to illustrate our points, and encourage audience interaction and the help of willing volunteers. It is presented using a combination of Power Point, Flip Charts, Videos and interactive audience-participation.

We usually ask for one or more volunteers to take part in a practice media interview, where specific key messages need to be communicated. We then replay the interview, highlighting the lessons to be learnt from this random example. We usually take between ten and twenty participants per seminar, but it can be run for larger numbers by arrangement. It is also the ideal seminar to run on your annual company conference or at a regional networking event.
